YBM Tengku Seri Bijaya Raja is the State Secretary of Terengganu.
Beginning in 1991, his early years were spent as a member of the civil service serving the State Secretary Office under various portfolios. He rose steadily through the ranks and built his experience while serving several state district council and land offices such as Besut, Kuala Terengganu and Kuala Nerus as well as the State Events and Protocol Department.
YBM Tengku Seri Bijaya Raja served as the Private Secretary to the His Royal Highness the Sultan of Terengganu in 2004 and continued to serve His Royal Highness when he was installed as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong in 2006. YBM Tengku Seri Bijaya Raja was appointed as the Grand Chamberlain (Datuk Paduka Maharaja Lela) and Comptroller (Datuk Pengelola Bijaya DiRaja) of the Royal Family and Household of Istana Negara in 2006 and 2008 respectively until His Royal Highness ended his five-year term in 2011.
In 2012, YBM Tengku Seri Bijaya Raja was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Terengganu Integrity & Strategic Studies Institute (“TSIS”), the state’s think tank. In June 2014, YBM Tengku Seri Bijaya Raja returned to the State Secretary Office serving Human Resource Management Division. From September 2016 to January 2019, he was the District Officer for the newly established district of Kuala Nerus. He became the Deputy State Secretary (Management) and later was appointed as the Land and Mines Director of Terengganu in 2019. He was the State Financial Officer of Terengganu in 2021 prior to assuming his role as the State Secretary of Terengganu.
His substantial experience in business administration and finance has made him highly competent in the fundamental areas of the business sector including long-run economic growth.
